Review: Balenciage Rosabotanica EDP

A slightly rosier take on Balenciaga’s original perfume, Florabotanica, this new addition, Rosabotanica, epitomises what a rose perfume should be, for me.

I usually go for sweet, fruity scents and yet something about Rosabotanica caught my attention. It is definitely one of those fragrances that you will need to try before you buy and definitely not one to purchase blindly as a gift as I feel that it is one of those scents that one either loves or hates.

At first, it smells like dewy grass and conjures up images of a fresh grass field in the morning. As it wears down, you can smell the rose but only slightly. It’s a great bright fragrance to wake you up on first spritz and then a rosy musk surrounds you as the day goes on.

I choose to wear this both day and night as it’s not too heavy for daytime wear but not too light either. I love that despite being a rose perfume, it’s not too powdery nor “grandma”-ish.

Top: Hyacinth, Fig Leaf, Petitgrain and Grapefruit
