Hawaii Beauty Haul

This is a very delayed post but here is my Hawaii beauty haul!

My trip to Hawaii was amazing. I would go back in a heartbeat. The food was very ‘heavy’ though – I put more weight on in Hawaii in the one week I was there than I did when I was in Malaysia and Singapore for three weeks!

Onto the haul (let me know if you need more details or prices etc)

As you can see, I went a bit glitter-happy with the polishes! Also, you know you have a problem when you purchase a black polish then later that same day, go and buy another one because you “don’t have any black polishes!”

China Glaze Glitz’n Pieces, Zoya Julie, Revlon Scadalous, China Glaze Electrify, Revlon Knockout, Sephora by OPI Spark-tacular! top coat, OPI Lights of Emerald City, OPI Polka.Com, Essie A-Cut Above {not pictured, OPI Get Your Number}

Nature Republic face masks {Garden Recipe Strawberry Wash-Off Pack, Aqua Super Aqua Max and Essential Solution Pearl} and a foot mask {thanks Malaysia and Singapore for piquing my interest in foot masks!}, Dior Amber Diamond shimmer powder, Smith’s Rosebud Salve Strawberry lip balm, Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes in 0L, Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Sweetheart, Wet n Wild Fergie creme lipstick in Old School Glam, Wet n Wild Perfect Pout lipstick in Fuchsianista, NYX Xtreme lip cream in Pinky Nude, L’oreal Infallible eyeshadow in Eternal Sunshine, MAC 217 brush, MAC lipsticks {Speak Louder, Speed Dial, Asian Flower and Lustering}, MAC eyeshadow in Expensive Pink, MAC lip pencil in Subculture, Guerlain Rouge Automatique trio {Chamade, Champs-Elysees, Coque D’Or}

At the beginning, I tried to pace myself and tried to purchase items that I needed. It went well for a couple of days but when you’re hanging around two girls who were “YOLO”-ing every single time they were in a Sephora, well, I gave in to peer pressure! Also didn’t help that my mum and aunties also became regulars at the DFS Galleria beauty floor. So there you have it! I did buy some stuff from Bath & Body Works as well clothes etc but beauty products are more fun :)

Malaysia and Singapore Haul

Back in mid-January to February, I flew off to Malaysia and Singapore with my boyfriend. On our second day in Penang, my boyfriend took me to the local Watsons store and I got a bit overexcited haha. Later that week, we went into my first SaSa store and I was so overwhelmed! It was like Priceline on steroids. Oh and then walking into Tang’s beauty floor in Singapore? Jaw. Drop. And then Sephora!!

Anyways, enough blabbering. Here was my cumalative haul from my three week adventure much to my boyfriend’s disbelief!

Please let me know if you want swatches and/or reviews on any of these and I will fast track them. Otherwise, I will be slowly going through this (and my Hawaii haul – which is coming up soon too)….Oh, if you want to know prices as well, just comment and I’ll let you know.

And lastly, perfumes:

Malaysia and Singapore Haul

Evidently, I stocked up on a lot of cosmetics. I didn’t purchase much clothes or accessories – 1 Charles and Keith handbag, 3 pairs of shoes and some basics from Forever 21.

Little did I know that fast-forward a couple of months time and I’d be heading to Hawaii! So stay tuned for that haul.

Essence Haul

Essence is a German brand that has some awesome products at low, low, low prices. Seriously. Most of their products retail for under $10AUD. Bargain!

My local Target has had the Essence stand for a while now and it’s always well stocked.

My tiny haul seeing as Target is currently having a 25% off all cosmetics.

Red Blush lipliner ($1.46) – I never use lipliner but seeing as I’m beginning to love wearing red lipstick, a cheapie red lipliner should do the trick. I haven’t tried it yet but I’ll let you know.

Brown eyebrow designer ($2.21) – I have learnt what filling in your brows do for you. I’ve been using a MAC one but this actually does a better job! The lil brush on the lid does wonders blending it out. Looks natural.

Soft beige mattifying compact powder ($4.46) – I needed a mattifying powder as Summer’s right around the corner and when I saw this, I grabbed it! Under $5, works good enough for me and is great as a beginner’s mattifying powder lol.

Once I’ve had a proper chance using these, I’ll definitely do a more in-depth review but for now, quick thoughts will suffice!

MAC Semi-Precious collection

Wow, talk about a delayed post aye? Sorry guys. For some reason, posting about my tiny haul from MAC’s Semi-Precious collection totally slipped my mind. Better late than never!

Let’s get on with it then…

I purchased Gem of Roses lipstick and Feeling Flush mineralize blush.

Gem of Roses – midtone strawberry pink.

MAC Gem of Roses lipstick

The description by MAC is pretty accurate. Gem of Roses does have a slight gold shimmer but nothing too BAM – in your face. It gives your lips a very nice shine. Application – SMOOTH. Wow! I haven’t been wearing my MAC lipsticks as much these days so I have forgotten about how great they can be. Gem of Roses applies sooo smoothly – like applying lip balm.

Bare lips - natural light

MAC Gem of Roses lipstick - natural light

It gives your lips a hint of colour without taking over the show. Such a perfect everyday lipstick. Unfortuntately, MAC likes its limited edition collections so this is unavailable from counters now. You could try your luck on eBay I guess or for the lucky US ladies – CCOs!

Next I got Feeling Flush mineralize blush. This thing is pigmented as pigmented goes so I prefer using my small stippling brush to apply this. MAC’s description is pretty lack-lustre honestly – “pink, deep blue, soft brown, pink”. The double pink = super pink blush, MAC?

MAC Feeling Flush mineralize blush

I love how crazy pigmented this is. And it’s the perfect pink for my cheeks. I tend to have a bit of redness inmy cheeks but this somehow tones it down and gives me a nice flush. MAC Dollymix blush used to be my go-to for pink cheeks but I’ve since sold it and have found an even better replacement!

Feeling Flush mineralize blush, like most, if not all of MAC’s blushes, last an average of 6-8 hours on me.

IMATS Haul

IMATS haul

(Sorry for the various lightings throughout the pictures. The sun was playing hide and seek.)

I attended IMATS this year as part of the Australian Beauty Bloggers Weekend. It was my first time attending IMATS and despite the amazingness of the show, I am undecided as to whether I will attend next year. I am not a big fan of crowds and IMATS was just PACKED with people. Hands were flying, trying to grab onto anything and everything.

Inglot

My first purchase was at the Inglot stand which was INSANE.

Inglot madness

Inglot haul

It was so overcrowded and Inglot didn’t have a very organised system. I was lucky I had my wonderful friends (Michelle, Anita, Tara, Angela and Angie) to help me decide on which shadows to get.

Swatching at Inglot

Seeing as I have never tried Inglot before, I thought it be best I stick with the 4 pan palette and just get 4 shadows to try. I made it my mission not to get any neutrals as I’ve got a truckload of neutrals to play with at home. It didn’t help with Anita grabbing some of the most gorgeous neutrals I’ve ever laid eyes on! After 15 minutes or so of swatching, I decided on: DS 504, AMC Shine 15, Pearl 452 and Pearl 446. I paid $28 for the 4 shadows (works out to be $7 each) and then $6 for the 4 pan.

This was handy. A pull-back sticker type for the shadows. Easy to remove the shadow from the packaging.

Top: (L) Pearl 452, (R) Pearl 446/ Bottom: (L) D.S 504, (R) AMC Shine 15

After I had made my first purchase from Inglot, I went to the neighbouring stall and got two pairs of false lashes whilst waiting for the other ladies to finish their palettes :)

Girlee Cosmetics stand

I got these from Girlee Cosmetics – 2 for $10.

Girlee Cosmetics haul

Whilst we were waiting for some of the girls to get served, which felt like FOREVER, some other ABBW attendees came past and informed us of the bargains at Illamasqua so that was our next stop.

Chaos at the Illamasqua stand

There was a very limited range available and a lot of the good stuff were already sold out. However, me being me, did not want to walk away empty handed from Illamasqua because the prices were amazing.

Illamasqua haul

I got Libido cream blush for $15!! and Petulant intense lipgloss for $10. Bargain or what? I’ve got 2 other Illamasqua cream blushes so I know I won’t be disappointed. They’re amazing – blendable, pigmented without being overbearing and long lasting staying power.

Libido cream blush and Petulant intense lipgloss

I also got my hands on a Make Up For Ever aqua cream ($25).

Make Up For Ever stand

Make Up For Ever HD foundations

We were at PM Studio and found that the prices were a bit more wallet friendly than the actual Make Up For Ever stand and there wasn’t such a huge crowd :)

Make Up For Ever haul

After some ooh-ing and aah-ing, I settled on #18, a lilac mauve shade. I’ve never tried them before so I’m looking forward to having a play.

Whilst we were walking around IMATS, I made sure to keep an eye out for traincases. I’ve been looking at train cases for a while now but the freight costs made me avoid purchasing them online. I found a lovely one at The Make-up Foundation. It was selling for a ‘special show price’ of $75 so I grabbed one. It was so heavy lugging it from the convention centre to my car which was like a 5 minute walk LOL Big thanks to Angie for helping me lug it :)

The Make-up Foundation train case 02

It comes with six trays in total, three on each side. It’s also got a deep bottom section. Comes with 2 keys and a strap in case you (or .. I) want to carry it around :)

My two last stops were for BRUSHES! That’s what I really came to IMATS for 😛 Made my first stop at Royal and Lagnickel.

Royal and Langnickel - organised chaos

Royal and Langnickle haul

– Small stippler c255 $7
– Angle fluff c505 $5
– Taklon pointed lip c656 $3
– Large smudger c445 $5
– Foundation c200 $10

Just wanted to say how much I LOVED Royal and Langnickel’s system. You grabbed the baskets at one end and make your way to the other then pay! So simple and effective.

My last stop was of course at Crown Brush which was packed even more than Inglot was! So many people. I did manage to get some brushes after some pushing and shoving (it helps to be small sometimes).

Crown Brushes haul

At Crown Brush, I got:

– Pro spoolie c115
– Oval shadow ib108
– Tapered blush ib105
– Round crease ib116
– Round angle blender ib111

The disposable sponge tip applicators and other spoolie are for my mother :)

And now, as if this post isn’t ridiculously picture heavy already, I’ll be leaving you with some more pictures! :)

Gifts from South Korea

Sorry for the lack of posts, my dear readers. I have had no motivation to blog at all. I’m unsure why. Maybe I’m just feeling uninspired.

To tide you all over, here are some pictures of my haul courtesy of my good friend, Sarah. She was in South Korea for a month, I think and she grabbed me some goodies! I love it when your friends know what you like :)

Snail Thereapy?? Hmmm!

I asked her to get me the Etude house lip tint …

…and she came back with not just the lip tint but a lifeitme supply of face masks and various samples. Love her :)

Face masks heaven

And some more..

Comment if you’ve had experiences with any of these brands because they’re all very foreign and new to me :) So excited to try them!

Face of Australia – Molten Metallics

Last week, I took advantage of Priceline’s beauty sale. After seeing that many beauty bloggers raved about Face of Australia’s Molten Metallics nail polish, these were high on the want list.

Priceline is/was having a buy 2 get 1 free sale on some brands which included Face of Australia.

After umm-ing and aah-ing over which 3 shades to get, I finally decided on: Iron Ore, Flaming Lava and White Gold.

Iron Ore, Flaming Lava, White Gold

Where to buy
These are available from Priceline, K-Mart, Target, Big W etc for the bargain price of $4.95!

My EPIC Nail Polish Haul

As mentioned in my previous post, on the weekend, I made my way to my regular nail supply store to see what they had in stock and to my surprise, they had some great polishes in stock :)

After perusing the store for what seemed like forever, according to my boyfriend, I was pulled away and left with:

China Glaze Kaleidoscope Him Out
China Glaze QT
China Glaze TTYL
China Glaze DV8
China Glaze 2NITE
OPI Guy Meets Gal-veston
OPI DS Original
OPI DS Signature

I have now placed myself on a nail polish no buy as well as the continuing make up one lol.

So excited to wear all those holos!

Hair Haul

No make-up purchases – my no (more like low) buy is going strong!

As Lara says – this is the year of the hair.

I went to Priceline & got the Dove shampoo & conditioner. I saw on blushfully that they were on sale for $2.99 each so I thought why the heck not? 😛 Also grabbed the Batiste dry shampoo which was also on sale for $6.99. My hair gets so damn oily sometimes so I thought I might have a go at using dry shampoos.

Another Haul Brought To You By My BF :)

Every time my boyfriend heads overseas, he always comes back with presents for me :) This year, he got me:

MAC 224 brush
MAC 116 brush
MAC Angel lipstick

Clean & Clear blotting sheets

Mentholatum Sunplay Moisture Milk sunscreen
Biore UV Face Milk sunscreen

(The one on the left was what he got me mistakenly lol.)

and the best one yet .. my first Chanel JC – Rose Tourbillon

The packaging is so luxe. The blush even has its own velvet pouch!
