My Christmas Manicure

My first post of 2013!

Christmas Manicure featuring Essie A-List and Essence The Huntsman

I know this is a bit late but I thought I’d do a quick post of my Christmas mani. I really wanted to use my newly hauled Essence The Huntsman special effect topper aka glitter polish so I thought I’d pair it with one of my favourite red polishes EVER – Essie A-List.

Here is Essie A-List on its own – 1 coat.

Essie A-List

I am absolutely lazy when it comes to nail art because 1 – I’m such a noob and 2 – I hate putting in so much effort only to have it chip the next day. So this was perfect for me as it was minimal effort.

I just did 1 coat of Essie A-List and dabbed Essence The Huntsman at the tips.

Subtle but Christmas-y enough.

Essie Angora Cardi

Essie Angora Cardi

I purchased Essie Angora Cardi from a recent blog sale for a bargain price. Essie Angora Cardi had been on my wishlist for a while now.

Essie Angora Cardi is described by the brand as a “creamy, deep dusty rose”. Sorry – whut? Were they on crack? To me, Angora Cardi is a plum-mauve and in some lights, it even looks brown.

It’s the perfect shade for Autumn and Winter.

This is the first Essie polish that I hadn’t had a problem with. I usually find their brushes too small for my liking and the polish too runny but Angora Cardi was a dream. Pictured is 2 coats topped with Seche Vite, my lifesaver.

Essie Angora Cardi lasted about 4-5 days before chips started to rear their ugly heads.

Satin nail enamel #20 & Essie Turquoise & Caicos

I want Winter to be over already! This cold weather has got to move on already.

I managed to grab this beautiful Summer shade from Flossy Lock’s blog sale a couple of weeks back as it had been on my wishlist for a while now.

If you are following me on Twitter, you may remember me bitching about how difficult Essie polishes are! Maybe it’s just my luck but man, the brush makes it hard for me to apply the polish evenly & it’s so thin? I think I just always get the duds.

I also decided to use one of the Satin nail polishes I came across whilst in Port Macquarie a few weeks ago. I’ll be doing a separate post on the Satin polishes I hauled :)
