Review: Neutrogena Naturals Skincare Range

Neutrogena Naturals Skincare Range

Neutrogena has now also jumped onto the more ‘natural’ skincare bandwagon, offering to consumers Neutrogena Naturals. They offer skincare products that contain NO harsh chemical sulfates, parabens, petrochemicals, dyes, phthalates.

I have to say that my favourite thing about this line is that on the back of the packaging, they actually tell you the source of the ingredient which is fun. I’m not a science-y person at all so the breaking downof the ingredients are a welcome change.

The packaging of the products come in frosted 50% recycled plastic which looks really nice and I like that the cleansers are in pump bottles.

Neutrogena Naturals offers 7 products – in addition to those reviewed below, there’s also a moisturiser and night cream. Pictured is also the bar soap but I don’t use bar soaps and couldn’t find someone in the household who’d like to review it haha!

Fresh Cleansing + Makeup Remover $14.99AUD/177ml

To trial this cleanser and its makeup removing skills, I used it to remove my full face of makeup consisting of BB cream, liquid eyeliner, mascara, blush, highlighter, contour, eyeshadows and eyebrow gel. Guess what? It removed everything really well except for the mascara which I had to go back and remove with my Bioderma Crealine.

The consistency is less cream, more liquid-like. It’s got a pearlescent appearance and has a strong apple scent. It doesn’t foam up unlike the Purifying Facial Cleanser. One pump was more than enough to remove my makeup and left my skin feeling fresh and clean and not dry at all.

This would be a great cleanser to bring along with you on weekend trips and whatnot, as it’s both a cleanser and makeup remover – no need to pack separate products!

I opt for this cleanser for those days that I’m not wearing makeup or have very minimal makeup on (like just eyebrow powder).

Like the Fresh Cleansing + Makeup Remover above, it also has an apple scent although I find that this one has a bit of a creamy apple scent which was a bit cloying at first but after a while, you get kinda used to it haha! It’s a foaming cleanser so it does lather up a bit when you’re cleansing your face.

Again, like the above cleanser, my skin was not left feeling dry and tight but instead, very clean and moisturised.

However, unlike the Fresh Cleansing + Makeup Remover, it has a medium, clear consistency. Looks like a gel cleanser but feels more liquid-y…

Purifying Pore Scrub $14.99AUD/118g

This is a very gentle facial exfoliant which is something I’m not used to. When I first used it, I was very doubtful. I mean, you can’t even see the exfoliating agents – where are you jojoba beads and white Willow bark?? However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that when you start working the product into your face, you can feel the beads! I’ve always used more abrasive scrubs as I tend to get quite congested pores. However, I found that this scrub is so gentle that it’s perfect for everyday use, if needed. I just use the more abrasive scrubs twice a week instead on my problem areas.

It comes in a squeeze tube which is what I’m used to so no complaints here (although, as an aside, how else can exfoliators be packaged?) and again, has the apple scent like the cleansers.

Lip Balm $4.99AUD/4g

To me, lip balm is such an essential. So I always have one lying around everywhere! The Neutrogena Naturals Lip Balm does its job and is not too expensive. It glides on with no tugging and does not leave your lips looking like you’ve just drank a jug of oil. Smoothes and nourishes without the greasy look. It doesn’t leave a distinct colour behind either – just clear which is perfect for prepping your lips.

It should be noted that it does have a really refreshing scent – combination of mint and apple. I also like that it feels quite solid so I’m not too scared of breaking the balm off at the base.

Bottom line is that these are a great natural line which you should definitely look into. The products are great and they are affordable!

Purchase – Available at selected pharmacies, department stores, supermarkets and Priceline. With affordable price tags, there’s no reason as to why you shouldn’t check this natural range out.
