Review: Organix Hydrating Macadamia Oil Range

As a beauty blogger, I feel like my job is done when I’ve managed to help just one other person to purchase a product based on my reviews. So when my sister went out and purchased these, I was like ‘yippee’!

I received these last year (yes, the backlog is that huge!) but have actually used it throughout the year and have repurchased the products myself at least 3 times now.

Organix Hydrating Macadamia Oil Range

Shampoo (RRRP$19.99AUD/385ml)
The shampoo has a creamy pearlescent shade and is very smooth. It has a fresh and semi floral-fruity scent to it. In terms of lather, it was ok. Didn’t lather up too much but there was some lather. I like it when my shampoo lathers up nicely because I feel as though it’s cleaning my hair thoroughly.

Conditioner (RRP$19.99AUD/385ml)

The conditioner felt thick and looked a lot of creamy mayonnaise! I found that the scent of the conditioner was similar to that of the shampoo. I loved using this conditioner as it really made my hair smooth and soft without having the need to use a heavy duty hair masque or the like.

Dry styling oil (RRP$24.99/100ml)

This oil is what it says it is. I apply this on my damp hair, let it air dry and there are no more frizzies! When I choose to blow-dry my hair, I apply this and then blow-dry. What I am left with is smooth silky hair. The price may be a bit high but you only need a teensy bit which means it’ll last you for ages.

Using all three products together, I get soft and manageable hair that is not weighed down at all. This has definitely made its way onto my HG list and I will continue to repurchase these three products over and over again!

Review – Organix Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil collection

About the brand:

Organix is a salon-inspired hair care line offering over 50 products for your luscious locks. As its name suggests, Organix’s products contain organic active ingredients and are sulfate-free (great for my sensitive head!), with natural scents and are not tested on animals. Not only that but all their products are packaged in eco-friendly bottles manufactured containing materials recycled post-consumer resin. All labels are printed using environmentally friendly inks and compostable label film made from annually renewable resource corn, not from petrochemicals (Information from their website). Organix definitely knows how to target the environmentally friendly consumer!

I’m sure you’ve all seen the Organix hair care range whilst perusing your local supermarkets and chemists. The packaging is so cute. Like round, fat, short and stumpy lol. And colourful! This is my first time using an Organix brand hair care product so I was very curious.

Organix Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil collection

Organix’s Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil collection is a new formula which includes fair trade argan oil. The argan oil is extracted using a cold-pressed method ensuring that all its goodness stays in tact!

There has been a mad hype about moroccan oil over the last few months and we have seen a huge growth in hair care products containing moroccan oil. The most popular one I know of is the MoroccanOil hair care range but I haven’t tried it because I’m on a tight student budget 😉 I researched this so called miraculous product and found that:

  • Argan oil is made from argan nuts. These nuts grow on the argan tree which is found almost exclusively on Morocco.
  • The oil has amazing properties and has many uses. It is rich in vitamin E, promotes hair growth, great moisturiser, and great for bread hehe.

Sounds great doesn’t it? Essentially, argan oil = moroccan oil. I found myself some cosmetic grade argan oil and have been using that for a couple of months now. I apply it to the ends of my hair which is dry and brittle and with the argan oil applied, I find it much easier to comb through and it doesn’t get as tangled as before. That’s about as far as my dabbling into argan/moroccan oil territory goes!

So naturally, when I was offered the opportunity to review the collection, I jumped at the chance!

Round, wide, oblong lid. Turquoise blue packaging. Gold lid. The shampoo and conditioner are housed in identical packaging with the only thing to differentiate them being the words ‘shampoo’ or ‘conditioner’ on the front label. I prefer my shampoo and conditioner to be packaged in slightly different colours for easy identification in the shower but it doesn’t bother me that much LOL.

Similarly packaged but in a smaller tube is the penetrating oil. It has an oblong shaped snap-lid, with a small round opening to dispense the product. The biggest issue I have with this is that it tends to drip onto the front of the bottle when I was dispensing the oil onto my hand – I mean, yeah it was easy to get the product but .. drippage!

Organix Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil Penetrating Oil

Living in the round tub is the renewing treatment. Same colour scheme as the penetrating oil, shampoo and conditioner, it has a twist lid and you have to scoop the product out. I hate treatments that come packaged like this. I do my hair treatments in the shower so there’s always bound to be some water making its way into the tub. Another issue – hygiene! It may be probably be best to be packaged in a pump dispenser or something similar.

Organix Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil Treatment

Organix Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo and Conditioner (RRP $19.99) Size – 385ml

Claims: Indulge in the sense with a nourshing formula that is free of sulfates, phosphates and parabens. Safe for color-treated hair, the Moroccan Argan Oil shampoo and conditioner will restore moisture to dry hair and stimulate the scalp to create a cleansing and rejuvenating experience.

I say:

First, my hair. It’s manageable but it’s dry and gets tangled so easily.

The shampoo and conditioner has a lovely floral/citrus scent that is not overpowering. I love the scent but some of you may hate scents and fragrances.

Organix Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo and Conditioner

I found the shampoo lathered well and the conditioner hydrated my hair! After washing my hair, I blow dry it and usually, I lose a lot of hair. Seriously. My bathroom floor looks so hairy haha. But after using the shampoo and conditioner, my hair has become really easy to brush through and minimal hair fall out.

Additionally, my hair usually gets quite greasy/oily by the second day but with continued use of the shampoo and conditioner, my hair didn’t get oily at all.

Organix Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil Penetrating Oil (RRP $24.99) Size – 100ml

Claims: For a radiant shine that will stay with you all day long, the ultra-light Moroccan Argan Oil Penetrating Oil will fight frizz, and moisturise brittle hair. To reduce drying time, apply a small amount of Moroccan Argan Oil penetrating oil to damp or towel dried hair working through to ends.

I say:

I apply this prior to blow drying my hair and true to its claims, it has reduced drying time for me even if it’s by a couple of minutes. Those extra minute or two are so precious especially in the morning! It’s very light so doesn’t weigh your hair down and I just use about a 10cent coin size for my hair.

Organix Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil Renewing Treatment (RRP $19.99) Size – 237ml

Claims: Restore hair’s inner health with argan oil nutrients to add brilliant shine with the sweet smelling blend of enriching organic active ingredients. Scoop a small amount of Organix Moroccan Argan Oil Renewing Treatment into palm and evenly distribute with a wide tooth comb from the roots down to the ends. Leave Organix Moroccan Argan Oil Renewing Treatment in hair for five to seven minutes and rinse with mild to cool water. The hydrating formula will not weigh hair down or leave any residue.

I say:

I love using hair treatments! Even though I did not use per the instructions (apply, shower cap, hot towel – I skipped the hot towel), I did find that my hair was left feeling so so soft and luscious! I could not stop running my fingers through my hair.

I was a bit confused with the instructions though because it did not state whether to use on dry or wet hair :S I usually do treatments on wet that’s what I did.

And no tangles – woo!

As you can probably tell, I am in love with this range and once I run out, would run out and buy them. I love how they made my hair manageable and soft.

I mean look at this:
